Kohima police manning Phesema check gate, intercepted a truck (AS-21-9301) and arrested the driver, who failed to produce documents, said SDPO and PRO Kohima police Atu Zumvü said Wednesday.
During preliminary investigation, the chassis number engraved in the vehicle did not tally with the report from Transport Vahan database, PRO said.
In this connection, the driver identified as Angom Mangijao Singh (25) arrested and taken to police custody.
Regular case has been registered at Kohima South PS for further investigation, PRO said. In another incident, on December 8, Kohima police at Phesema check gate, intercepted a tata mobile (NL-01A-6038).
During physical verification, PRO the chassis number of the vehicle did not tally with the number in the documents and report of Transport Vahan Database.
The driver identified as Kolo Chalai (34) has been arrested, PRO said and case registered at Kohima South P.S.
