CMO, Nagaland on Wednesday informed that chief minister T.R. Zeliang will not attend the swearing-in ceremony of Nitish Kumar as Bihar Chief Minister on Friday. Clarifying a PTI report, “JD (U) keen on larger opposition unity to counter NDA at national level”, the CMO in a release, said the name of the Chief Minister was mentioned among other names to attend the oath taking ceremony on November 20.
CMO said Bihar Chief Minister- designate Nitish Kumar telephoned Zeliang on November 16 and pleasantries were exchanged and invitation to attend the ceremony was indeed extended. Also, written invitation from the former’s office received on Tuesday. However, owing to pre-fixed engagements, the CMO on Wednesday replied that it would not be possible for the Chief Minister to attend the function.
However, the Chief Minister extended his sincere congratulations to Kumar and his Grand Alliance for their electoral victory in Bihar.
