GBs urged to be harbinger of change

GBs have been reminded that apart from preserving customary laws and traditions, they have a bigger and effective role to perform to bring changes in the society. 
In regard to this, Retd addl chief secretary and commissioner, T.N. Manen called upon the GBs to an agent in bringing social and political changes in the Naga society. 
He was addressing the opening day of the two-day, general session of Nagaland GB Federation which got underway at Town Hall, Mokokchung Wednesday. 
Manen added that since GBs considered as enlightened local leaders and represent grass root level, they have tremendous role to play in shaping the political destiny of the Nagas.  He therefore, reminded GBs to stand united and be a symbol of Naga unity without any division. 
Earlier, short speeches were delivered DC Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS and legal advisor to MDGBA, advocate Takuyaba.
Welcome address was delivered by MDGBA president, Imolemba and invocation by SBC (B) pastor Rev. Honito. Special songs were presented by Sumi Baptist Church Choir, Mokokchung and ENPO Unit, Mokokchung. 
On Thursday, minister highway, mechanical & election, Nuklutoshi and parliamentary secretary for horticulture, DB & GB, Kejong Chang would grace the session as chief guest and guest of honour.
