DDSU celebrates ‘38-ü baghi hoho’

Dimapur Sümi Students’ Union (DDSU) celebrated its “38-ü baghi hoho” under the theme “learning: a boon, work: a blessing”, Friday at Dimapur Town Hall.
Speaking in the celebration, additional director land resource Hoto Yeptho read out a Bible passage “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” and said that nothing can be achieved without God’s will. As students, he said they should first fear the lord to gain knowledge and wisdom. Encouraging students to be consistent, Hoto emphasized on being consistent to be successful and also urged the students not to give up even if they do not succeed but to consistently try to achieve their set goal.
He also said that students should never depend on their luck but work hard saying “if you are dependent on your luck then you will never be successful but if you are consistent then you can achieve anything in life”.
Hoto also discouraged student leaders propagating ism saying as student leaders they should promote unity among the tribes and build cordial relationship.
Earlier, invocation was said by DSBC associate pastor Vitoli Zhimo, welcome address advisor DSSU Vitoka V Awomi, presidential address by DSSU president Hutoshe Kits, exhortation by WSSU office bearer, folksong by Sumi Students’ Union, Notun Bosti and benediction by NCRC Sumi, Dimapur Town pastor Mathew Labo.
DDSU “38-ü baghi hoho” would conclude on October 31 with former advisor DSSU N Kuputo Achumi as the theme speaker.
