Founder of CAN Youth Jenpu Rongmei has been conferred the Maja Koene Social Activist Award 2015 (MKSAA) on October 28 at Guwahati for his overall contribution in organizing and empowering the youth for peace and development works.
The award honors grassroots level social activist and journalist, who have done significant work in the field of awareness building, in order to remove injustice and poverty.
The award is jointly instituted by the Centre for Experiencing Socio-Cultural interaction (CESCI) Switzerland and India in memory of late Maja Koene, founder of CESCI Madurai who had passed away in 1999, stated the release. Along with Jenpu Rongmei three other social activists, two journalists and one peace activist were awarded from across the nation.
