Friends of 80 Plus observes foundation day

Friends of 80 plus of Kohima observed its 13th foundation day at Kohima Village Council Hall in Kohima on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion as special guest, president Tenyima Peoples’s Organization, Timikha Koza expressed joy to see the host of elderly citizens and said that because of their blessings and prayers, Nagas were living in comfort today.
He said that the Naga tradition and culture bestows the highest values and respect for elders, who are valuable assets for society. Koza appealed to the people to continue the tradition of valuing elderly citizens and their valuable wisdom.
While lauding the Friends of 80 plus for upholding the traditional practice by honouring and extending help to the aged, he also wished them good health and long life stating that the society needed the guidance and wisdom of the elderly people.
Thenumezhüü Suokhrie presented a special song on the occasion while Lhouvisano Solo presented an ode to the great/grand-parents.
Children of late Dr. Satuo and late Khrieü Sekhose presented special gifts to the 80 plus friends and the programme was followed by a community feast hosted by KVYO.
Naga Hospital Authority Kohima also set up a free medical check up for all the 80 plus citizens. Around 50 elder citizens attended the foundation day programme.
