NSF expresses dismay over case against NSEE students

Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has expressed disappointment over the filing of a petition in the Court by one Md. Inzamul Hoque Talukdar against the students who appeared Nagaland State Entrance Examination (NSEE) and selected for undergoing MBBS and BDS courses under the Nagaland State quota seats during the session 2015-16.
In a press release, NSF Secretary Education Imtiyapang affirmed that “regardless of the court verdict”, the federation would “not accept any vested interest group or individual to snatch away the seats which is rightfully ours.”
To discuss the issue, the federation said it had summoned the petitioner and his parents to the NSF office on October 2. However, it said only Md. Inzamul’s relatives turned up and they shared the reason for his unavailability and parents.
According to the federation, it requested the relatives of Md. Inzamul to “kindly understand” its position and withdraw the case from the court. However, NSF said they “unfortunately” failed to comply with its request.
Stating that the petition filed by Md. Inzamul against 44 students and the department of higher technical education in the Gauhati High Court went in favour of the petitioner, the federation further said it would “never allow any seats from the state of Nagaland to any non-Naga indigenous inhabitant.”
NSF said it has been brought to its notice that “some are planning to allot additional seats” to accommodate Md. Inzamul. NSF said if it was so then the federation would ensure that any additional seats created should be given to the Naga students who were in the waiting list.
