Four militants of Dima Hasao National Army (DHNA), a Assam based terrorist group were apprehended by a joint team of 18 and 42 Assam Rifles from Jalukie while trying to procure illegal arms and establish their network.
In communique, IGAR (N) PRO said commander-in-chief of DHNA Kepre region, Thaijandro Langthasa along with his accomplice was apprehended from a Hotel in Jalukie by AR troops on September 29-30. PRO said the group had gone to Peren to procure illegal arms and establish network in connivance with some Naga insurgent groups.
Based on the interrogation, Assam Rifles further apprehended another cadre from Khelma and recovered warlike stores. The team further extended their operation to the Kepre area of neighboring Assam along with 43 AR and Assam police. The joint team busted the DHNA hideout deep inside the jungles of Langokro from where its deputy c-in-c Dimon Haslong was arrested. The team also dug out three caches of arms and ammunition from the hideout, which comprises several assault rifles, ammunition, radio set walkie-talkies, detonators, combat dresses, and incriminating documents, PRO informed.
During the operation, 18 AR also rescued a civilian named Paramjit Kemprai, who was held hostage by DHNA for forced recruitment.
