ACAUT, 8 councils file FIR against NSCN (I-M)

ACAUT Nagaland along with eight colony/village councils have filed an First Information Report (FIR) against NSCN (I-M) after receiving complaints from business community with regard to “forceful collection” of “shop registration tax” in the market by NSCN (I-M).
A copy of FIR made available to media was jointly singed by members of ACAUT Nagaland and eight councils including Lomithi Village Council, Metha Colony, Signal Angami Council, Signal Rio Colony, Viola Colony Council, Kevija-u Village Council, Y Zhimo Council and Naga Gaon Colony.
The FIR stated that it has been filed against NSCN (I-M) “functionary/cadres responsible for such collections which is clearly illegal and violation of ceasefire ground rules”. The signatories stated that the cadres should be arrested and booked as per relevant sections of the law. In view of “constant harassment”, the signatories have urged the police to post “beat constables” in all markets under the jurisdiction of Sub-Urban Police Station and this reassure the business community.
