Alumni association of Dimapur Government College (DGC) in commemoration of DGC golden jubilee to be celebrated in 2016 would be erecting a grand college gate in honour of the pioneers of the college founded in 1966. The college alumni would also be constructing a students’ waiting shed cum college canteen in the campus.
A press release by president DGC alumni association, A. Yanger Jamir stated that these projects have already been started with generous contributions of the college alumni and well wishers and expected to complete before the year of the jubilee 2016.
It also requested all the alumni and well wishers to extend all possible help towards fruition of these projects and reminded all its alumni members to pay their membership fee to associate professor Sedevino or the office bearers during college working hours.
It may be worth mentioning that the Dimapur College (Arts & Commerce) was the only college in Dimapur as private college till recent past and today it is the only government college in Dimapur that caters to the academic needs of hundreds of students every year.
