
In completion of 28 years of existence, Pilgrim School Dimapur organized a mega art exhibition under the theme “every child an artist” with entrepreneur, president rattle and hum music society, governor’s awardees’ for excellence in music, alumni international visitor leadership programme, Theja Meru as special guest.
In a brief function, Pilgrim School Dimapur headmistress, Kaini Khekho Kikon said the event was organized with a view to encourage and blossom creativity and cognitive skills in the children.
She also said that learning to create and appreciate visual aesthetics has become more important than ever to the development of the next generation children. Kaini said that creative art was one of the building blocks of child development as it encompasses all the development domains. Kaini mentioned that the programme was aimed at developing a sense of individuality, self-respect and appreciation of others’ work while also serving as a launch pad to enhance and further their observational, analytical and interpretational skills.
The event was witnessed and attended by parents, guardians and well wishers. Students from class nursery to class 10 participated in the event.
Winners of the exhibition in category (A) group from nursery to Class-B were Limhathung of class-BI bagged first, Livini G Zimo of class-BI bagged second and Chengnyu of class-AI bagged third, Group (B) from Class 1-2 were Azavika of class-2 bagged first, Darin of class 2 bagged second and Visi of class-2 bagged third, for group (C) from 4-5 were Elita of class 4 bagged first, Hito of class-3 bagged 3 and Lensanaro of class-4 bagged third, group (D) from class 5-7 were Kuvitoli of class-7 bagged first, Akivito of class-5 bagged second and Awe of class-5 bagged third and in group (E) from class 8-10 were Sentimongla of class-8 bagged first, Hoiting of class-10 bagged second and Wati of class-9 bagged third. The programme also started off with “spot painting’ session where students along with Editorial cartoonist/illustrator, Nagaland Post, Akummenren Lemtor exhibited their artistic skills.
