CSU observes black day in Phek

Chakhesang Students’ Union observed its annual black day on October 3 at GHSS Phek in memory of late Achikho Puro, former games and sports secretary (2006-8) who was killed by combined forces of FGN (non-accordist) and NSCN (K). 
A joint press release by CSU president Seve. R. Vadeo and general secretary Ngapunyi Krocha stated that the union, since the tragic incident, had repeatedly appealed to both factions to award befitting punishment to the culprits who had taken the life of late Achikho. However lamented that the concerned factions had “failed miserably” to meet the demand of the union.
 It stated that the union had since unanimously declared non-cooperation to both the factions involved. 
The union also stated that on the black day it also remembered the innocent victims who have lost their lives in factional clashes. The union also extended condolence to the bereaved family members of late Achikho and acknowledged his contributions rendered to the Chakhesang students’ community. 
The programme was chaired by president Phek town Chakhesang students’ union Kudukhoto Tetseo, while ex-official of CSU Wezete exhorted the gathering and general secretary CSU Ngapunyi Krocha gave a message during the program.
