Directorate of School Education (DoSE) organized a farewell programme in honour of retiring principal director Zaveyi Nyekha Wednesday at the conference hall of the directorate office. His first appointment was an assistant teacher at Chetheba.
Speaking at the farewell programme, commissioner & secretary, School Education, F.P Solo described Nyekha as a government servant who had rendered his service to uplift the department and the government. Solo lauded the outgoing principal director for successfully completing the manual for implementation of mid day meal scheme which he described as an “achievement” under Nyekha’s leadership.
Solo said that the retiring officer has left a legacy behind and urged all officers and staff of the directorate to do the same in their own capacity.
In his retiring speech, Nyekha expressed gratitude to the government especially minister school education, Yitachu and commissioner & secretary, school education, F.P.Solo for promoting him to the post of principal director, just days before his retirement.
He said that he was extremely honored to be the first among the Nagaland School Education Administrative Officers to be promoted to the post of principal director.
Nyekha said that since his first appointment as assistant teacher at Chetheba till his retirement as principal director of DSE, he had been posted to various districts and was able to serve the department in various capacities. He thanked all those whom he had worked closely with including the staff at the directorate which he headed as the director for nearly two and half years.
Nyekha said that though the seat that he held as director and principal director was not an easy chair to seat in, all problems, both underground and over ground factors can be settled amicably through proper reasoning and understanding. He urged the officers and staff of the directorate to have a positive frame of mind in solving any issues. Short speeches were delivered by Viechuhu on behalf of the directorate ministerial staff association, president NSEAOA Khetoshe, additional directors Pollem Tep and Limawabang and president ANSTA. The programme was chaired by additional director, Senthang.
