To popularise Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) a “MUDRA loan mega campaign” was organised by lead bank office Kohima on September 28.
ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi graced the event as chief guest.
According to chief manager lead bank office Kohima Lanuteka Imchen, the ADC expressed the hope that the Mega Camp would further popularize the scheme and facilitate better banker-borrower interaction.
She called upon the entrepreneurs requiring small business finance to approach banks under the scheme and work with diligence including timely repayment of loans. ADC also urged the bankers to guide and extend all necessary support to potential and existing entrepreneurs to make the scheme a success, stated the release.
It further stated that manager Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) Dimapur S. Pauminthang Gangte highlighted the background, objective and rationale of PMMY under which priority would be given to scheduled caste/scheduled tribe entrepreneurs in order to increase their access to credit from the formal financial sector. Following banks participated in the programme : Nagaland Rural Bank, BOB, IDBI, CBI, SBI, Federal Bank, Axis Bank, Vijaya Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Bank of India and Canara Bank. During the programme, a total of 102 loan sanctioned letters issued by eight banks amounting to Rs. 50.30 lakh were handed over to the PMMY beneficiaries.
