Nagaland chief minister urged upon Nagas to suggest views and opinions towards finding an honourable, final and acceptable solution to the protracted Naga political problem, without delay.
He said this while speaking at the ‘World Tourism Day’ function in Peren and in the context of creating a peaceful environment for tourism industry. He said following the signing of the August 3 Accord, it was time for Nagas to give inputs for the shape of the framework.
Zeliang also appealed to people to have a positive attitude, while participating in the deliberations for solution to the Naga problem.
The chief minister pointed out that when all 60 legislators of the state from various political parties could come together to voice their desire for an early solution to the government of India, there was no reason why different sections of Naga society could also not come together in this regard.
Zeliang said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was touched by the sense of unity and determination after meeting a 16-member delegation of legislators from all parties by assured the delegation that he would see to it that peace was ushered expeditiously. Zeliang also said the prime minister pointed out in no uncertain terms, that Nagas ought to work out the formula to be discussed with the government of India.
The chief minister said it was time to deliberate and discuss on how to bring solution after more than 16 years of negotiations, the longest ever between the government of India with any group.
