Tovihoto inaugurates DMC constructed drain and culverts

Continuing its commitment to develop and beautify Dimapur, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) constructed a RCC drain and five RCC culverts along M.P. Road Dimapur which was inaugurated by MLA Dimapur-I & ex-officio DMC, H. Tovihoto Ayemi as the chief guest, Saturday.
The RCC drain with a cover slab is constructed on both sides of the road; DMC has also widened the footpath alongside the road (average 6ft wide including cover slab) and has installed steel reeling for “beautification-cum-protection” of the constructed drainage.
In his inaugural speech, Tovihoto lauded DMC and said that with time things are changing and added that people should also change their mindset for positive developments.
Asserting that NPF led DAN government would not reverse on any development projects, Tovihoto said that it would reach its destination and that the public should be aware of it.
He then called upon all the sensible and concern citizens of Dimapur to protect and take care of the developmental work done by DMC and to utilize it judiciously.
Tovihoto also appealed the public to have sense of belonging in safeguarding the beauty of Dimapur town.
The MLA also congratulated the entire team of DMC for their zeal to work in developing Dimapur town and at the same time, he also lauded the cooperation shown by business community of the area and the public towards DMC.
Earlier, DMC CEO, H. Atokhe Aye expressed gratitude to concern department and state government, Dimapur civil societies, business community of the area for their support in all developmental activities.
He also said that DMC is trying to give their best to deliver the basic service to the public. He appealed the public inculcate civic sense and asked them to throw waste in designated dustbins within DMC jurisdiction.
He further appealed all the business establishments of M.P road, Church Road, Bata Charali etc. not to throw waste in the street.
The brief inaugural programme commenced with an invocation by DMC office superintendent while vote of thanks was proposed by DMC executive engineer. 
It may be noted that the length of drain of side-I, side-II and drain towards Masjid are 1465 ft=439m while the five culverts length are 189m, railing and beautification board -155 nos and footpath-6ft wide coverage.
