Nagaland BJP unit, after its successful poll battle, plans to make major changes in the organisational set up soon in order to re-strengthen the party at all levels.
Informing of this in a press note, BJP media cell convener, K. James Vizo said that the decision was in conformity of the recent visit of Ananta Mishra, secretary (Org) to Delhi BJP headquarters from April 22-26, 2018.
Mishra met several BJP central leaders including the national BJP president Amit Shah, national general secretary (Org.) Ramlal, Nagaland Election in-charge & MoS for Home Kiren Rijiju and national general secretary (NE in-charge) for political affairs Ram Madhav and submitted a detailed report of the party affairs and of the recently concluded election.
Vizo stated that the Central leaders expressed satisfaction with the State unit’s performance.
Meanwhile, as directed by the high command, Vizo said that the state unit will be organising a training camp for the BJP Legislators, state, district and mandal level workers soon.
Ananta Mishra also met the former Prime Minister and the first BJP national president, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former national BJP president Murli Manohar Joshi, he said.
During the meeting, Joshi recalled how the BJP faced stiff opposition during its entry to the state in 1985. However, Joshi said he managed to plant few activities with few workers and during his short stay in Kohima.
Today, he said the victory of BJP in Nagaland spoke volumes, that the people’s priority was development with high hopes on BJP.
While congratulating and appreciating the people of Nagaland and all party rank and files for bring the victory, Joshi also recalled the immense contribution and participation of P.B. Acharya the then BJP North East in-charge and incumbent Nagaland Governor.
