West police personnel on the received of complaint by Chakhroma Students’ Union (CSU) that its members threatened and “attempt to murder” at gun-point by two miscreants, swung into action and arrested two persons on Monday.
According to CSU president Rokovi Kruse, the two arrested persons were identified as Ejanthung Ngullie and Imnawabang Ao.
Chakhroma Students’ Union president said on September 4 night at around 8 pm, Kevichüle, games and sports secretary of Rüzaphema students’ union along with his aunt and sister were threatened at gun-point by the perpetrators at DC court junction. After which, the two perpetrators forcibly drove away with their vehicle.
Chakhroma Students’ Union, in the strongest term, condemned the act of the culprits for attempt to murder and snatched away the vehicle at gun point.
The union highly appreciated the prompt action of the police in arresting the culprits and demanded that the two be booked under the National Security Act (NSA).
“Until such time they are appropriately booked under necessary provisions of law, that no bail whatsoever should be extended to them”, CSU said.
Chakhroma Students’ Union also stated that it wanted to know from the law enforcing agency whether the two belonged to any Naga political groups or mere dacoits.
