Governor inspects Phesama landslide

Nagaland Governor, P.B Acharya on Sunday visited the Phesama landslide area and donated Rs. one lakh as immediate relief to the affected persons.
According to DIPR, Acharya interacted with Phesama Village Council (PVC) members and affected families and expressed grief over the loss incurred by the people. 
After assessing the affected areas, the Governor said that Phesama landslide was one of the biggest calamities in Nagaland.
While encouraging the villagers to be courageous in times like this, Acharya said women and children particularly students who were the most affected needed to be given extra attention. 
Emphasizing on the greatness of God, he also asked the people not to lose faith in times of such calamities and stated that he would sincerely pray to God to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
He said such disasters occur due to the disturbances caused to the ecological balance and appealed to the citizens be sensitised on conservation and restoration of ecological balance.
Rather than accusing the authorities, he said self help was the need of the hour and urged upon the village leaders to impart this attitude to all. 
Acharya also appealed to the village council to extend full cooperation to the BRO, who have been working with great courage and determination.
The Governor also met BRO officials and expressed his appreciation for their efforts and contributions to tackle the disaster. He further directed BRO have a clear action plans with correct information to tackle the situation and to interact with village members.
Meanwhile, local MLA, Vikho-o Yoshu and Phesama village thanked the Governor for visiting the area to express his concern. Yoshu was optimistic that under the directives and blessings of the Governor, the requirements of the situation would be expedited.
Acharya inaugurates eco-friendly toilets
Nagaland Governor, P.B.  Acharya inaugurated the eco-friendly toilet block at Peducha on Sunday setup by the Border Roads Organization, Project Sewak. 
The toilets have been constructed for road users and the neighbouring villagers by BRO, Project Sewak led by Chief Engineer (Sewak) Vinod Kumar and Commandant 15 BRTF, Colonel  S.P Yadava as part of Swach Bharat Abhiyan.
During the inauguration programme Chairman, Peducha, Neimehel Neikha thanked the Governor for selecting their village for constructing the toilets although the village is small in size. Commandant 15 BRTF, Colonel S.P Yadava, while giving a short speech, thanked the Governor for giving them the initiative to construct the toilets and also for his presence for inauguration. 
He also thanked the Chief Engineer (Sewak), Vinod Kumar for his contribution towards successful construction of the toilets. Colonel expressed willingness to help in maintaining the block whenever necessary.
