Teachers and staff of Wangkhao Government College Mon organized a one day teachers’ orientation programme for the teachers of Shalom School-a mission school run by Nehemia India on August 30 at the International border village of Longwa.
The resource persons for orientating programme were assistant professor Temlei who spoke on “the prospect of eco tourism in the area” and assistant professor Tenoseno who spoke on the “responsibilities of a teacher and the principles of teaching.”
College Principal Akok Walling orientated the participants on the topic techniques and teaching, communication styles and classroom management. The faculties of Wangkhao College also donated clothes to the school to be distributed to the needy ones.
The programme was coordinated by field supervisor of Nehemia India for border areas and teacher in-charge of Shaloom School Nungsang.
It may be noted that Longwa village is the last of the Naga village situated at the boundary that divides India and Myanmar. The School has 150 children from across the borders that are commonly called the Eastern Nagas or the Burma Nagas.
