Various student bodies conduct respective union sessions

Chetheba Town Student’s Union (CTSU), Sakipheto Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SKK) Sohomi Students Union (SSU), Sungratsu Students Union (SSU) and Tesophenyu Group Students’ Union (TGSU) held their respective union sessions during the month of December 2017.
CTSU: The 28th general session of Chetheba Town Student’s Union (CTSU) was held at town hall, Chetheba on December 30 with the theme “call for change”, with advisor Social Welfare, Dr. Chotisuh Sazo as chief guest.
A press release by CTSU organizing committee stated that chief guest in his speech stressed on need for quality education and lamented on the excess of educated unemployed in the state. He also pointed out that educated students failed to humble themselves and urged upon them to change their mentality and learn the essence of dignity of labour. He called upon the students not to seek government job alone but also look for alternative in what they could do and start earning a livelihood. 
Acknowledging that students were leaders of the nation, Chotisuh said that change began at home through family members and the society would benefit from it. He advised the students to follow Jesus as the only one short cut to success by quoting Mathew 6: 33 “But seek ye the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you”. 
Mezahu Medeo, vice chairman Chetheba in his short address called upon the youth to set examples and lead the way for the younger generation. Medeo told the students to seek knowledge and work hard in order to guide them in their life.
Vevoto Tetseo, president CTSU in his presidential address called for change as the primary need for every society to exist and compete with its contemporary. He impressed upon the gathering to continue to uphold each other and harmoniously usher the society for the best interest of the people. 
The new office bearers were elected for the tenure 2018-20 with Zuvekhoyi Phesao as the president and Sekhozo Rhakho as general secretary. The student of the year was awarded to Nuvekho Rhakho, Class 9, Chokri Baptist school, Chetheba. 
SKK: The 36th annual session of Sakipheto Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SKK) under the theme,“be the change” was held on December 28 and 29. 
A press release by SKK stated that president of Dimapur District GBs Association, Tokuho Suhoi Neho and Toholi Chishi, academic dean, Withee Bible College, Dimapur were the speakers of the session. Speaking on the occasion, Tokuho Suhoi Neho dwelt on the theme of the conference and challenged the students to take the lead to bring about change in the society. He said Naga society needed a great change in all aspects. He also called upon the students to be God fearing and disciplined in life to become successful individual and contribute towards the growth and progress of the society. 
Izheho Zhimomi, head GB, Sakipheto village greeted the students while Vikato Ayemi, head GB, Alato village gave exhortation. 
SSU: Sohomi Students’ Union (SSU) held its 46th general session on December 28 under the theme, “students; our real assets”.
Speaking on the occasion as guest speaker, agriculture census officer, Kohima, Diwang Nusory called upon the students to be perseverant, acquire knowledge continuously and set a strong determination to become real assets of society. 
He urged the students to be responsible enough to bring change in the village. Diwang encouraged parents to be unselfish in investing for education because it is a never ending process and it comes with best result. The speaker also advised the students to strive for quality education and not degree oriented one so as to fit oneself in any kind of works. 
Further, he cautioned the students to refrain themselves from involving in politics prematurely and rather challenged them to be focused in their studies first and foremost. In his concluding remarks, the speaker told the students to seek God first and then pursue their dreams. 
Earlier the programme was chaired by games and sports secretary, Nuvide Nuwiry while Tsorusa Nusory exhorted the students and meritorious students were awarded. General secretary, Divito delivered welcome address and vote of thanks by publicity and information secretary, Eseto.
SSU: Sungratsu Kaket Rejusanger Telongjem (Sungratsu Students Union) presenting a drama representing adversities faced by its forefathers during the 1950s on the occasion of the 81st general conference of the SSU at Senden Salang, Sungratsu on December 29.
TGSU: Tesophenyu Group Students’ Union (TGSU) held its 55th general session-cum-foundation day under the theme “Luceat Lux Vestra” on December 30 at Tesophenyu community hall.
A press release by TGSU stated that while apeaking as resource person, SMO CHC Tseminyu  Dr. Tinenlo James opined that students have massive potential within them which could be nurtured and utilised for the betterment of society. He urged them to be hardworking, sincere and dedicated to illuminate with knowledge and wisdom. 
Further, he remarked that students must make a sacrifice and “burn out oneself so as to achieve success”, as success was 99% perspiration and one percent inspiration. He concluded that mistakes were a part of life and that one must cross over them and move on.
Earlier the programme was hosted by Tiansenla Magh and Sibenya Jemu, invocation by Rev. Pastor Wachulo Jemu and presidential address by outgoing president TGSU, A.P. Francis Magh. During the second session, executive council of TGSU (2018-2020) was installed with Ngviiyhun Tep as president and K.Jacinta Magh March as general secretary assisted by thirteen executive councils. Around150 students attended the 
programme.
