Kohima police Wednesday claimed to have made a break-through in the March 26 murder case with the arrest of three persons on Tuesday.
In a press release, Kohima Police SDPO and PRO, Atu Zumvu said the three arrested persons are identified as Kruse Terhuja (35), Vilalhoulie Rupreo (31) and Kezhaletuo Pielie (34).
On March 29, Meciebo Loch son of Keneingol Loch of Viswema village, Kohima was murdered and his dead body retrieved from Meriema village area located between High Court Junction and Nagaland Civil Secretariat Kohima, the next day. Police said it started the investigation from March 30, the day the FIR was lodged at Chiephobozou P.S.
According to police, the investigating agency got the lead after examining the mobile phone of the deceased and from the call detail records (CDR), last call received by the deceased. On Tuesday, police first arrested Kruse Terhuja, former “SS Captain” of FGN Non-Accordist, residing at Lower Bayavu colony Kohima, around 5 pm from BOC area, Kohima. Police said he was also arrested for two separate crimes in 2011 and 2013.
After the arrest of Kurse, further steps were taken and his accomplice namely, Vilalhoulie Rupreo, residing below Alder College Kohima was nabbed at around 1900 hrs from Tinpatti area Kohima. Police said that Vilalhoulie was convicted in connection of a murder case in 2006 and had served six years of imprisonment at Central Jail Dimapur. The third person identified as Kezhaletuo Pielie, a resident of Sepfüzou colony, Kohima. He was arrested from his residence last night at around 11 pm.
Police said that it has also seized the transportation used by them for committing the crime. As per the confessional statement of the three arrested persons, “all of them have voluntarily admitted” before the police to have murdered late Meciebo on the night of March 29, 2015, police said.
Further investigation is on to ascertain the motive behind the murder case.
