
Directorate of higher education bade farewell its director, C. Khalong Ao , Tuesday at its conference hall.
Delivering his farewell speech, the retiring director thanked God for blessing and guidance throughout his career for the last 34 years as a government servant.
He also encouraged the officers and staff to have determination for change stating that change should be within oneself to break the cocoon for the development of a successful institution.
C. Khalong Ao said that director alone cannot bring changes in the department unless there is team work. He further urged the officers, staff, teachers and all the college principals to maintained team spirit to give deliverance from ignorance to the people and students in particular.
Parliamentary Secretary for Higher & Technical Education, Deo Nukhu congratulated and expressed happiness to the retiring director for being successful in his assignments and described him as a man of faith.
During his tenure as a director, Deo Nukhu said that he has brought many changes and developments in the department and through his initiative Kohima Science College also became an autonomous body.
The programme was chaired by commissioner and secretary, Higher and technical education, F.P. Solo who also delivered the welcome address. Invocation prayer was offered by Principal Kohima Science College Chubatola Longkumer and special song was presented by Newmai. Short speeches were delivered by superintendent Sedele, Principal Zunheboto Government College Alempokba on behalf of principals additional director, higher education and Dr. Norbert Noraho.
