In a joint operation along with Kohima police, troops of 9 Assam Rifles (AR) apprehended “two NSCN (K) cadres and a suspected NSCN cadre from Chhotu Basti on May 27”. In a press release, PRO IGAR(N) identified the NSCN (K) cadres as ‘ss’ pvte Tokivi Ayi (23) son of Yevikhu, resident of Surumi village, Zunheboto and ‘ss’ corporal Khrasakhuyi alias Ato Chezo (25) son of Chakhupuyi, resident of Kachapu village, Phek. PRO further informed that the suspected underground cadre was identified as one Kulhunezo (23) son of Bonyi, resident of Runguzu village, Chozuba. All the three were later handed over to North Police Station, Kohima.
