CM holds meeting on Chang-Yimchunger issue

Nagaland chief minister T. R. Zeliang convened a meeting on Wednesday at his residential office “to discuss the way forward on the ongoing Chang-Yimchunger tribal conflict.” 
According to media cell CMO, the meeting was attended by Eastern Nagaland legislators, ENPO, ENSF, ENWO, Chang Khulei Setsang (CKS), Yimchunger Tribal Council (YTC) and executive secretaries of the Chang and Yimchunger Baptist Church Associations along with senior officials of the state government. 
According to the media cell, all those present at the meeting endorsed the resolution adopted at the Tripartite meeting held on April 7, 2015 and expressed appreciation to the CKS and YTC for abiding by the resolution, media cell said. 
The two tribes were urged upon to cease all forms of violence between them so as to pave the way for permanent peace and understanding.  
The chief minister assured that the mediators appointed by the Government would be asked to hasten the process for resolving the land dispute. 
While expressing satisfaction that the government as well as the civil societies and Church leaders were untiringly working towards lasting peace between the two tribes, the CM also hoped that the two tribes would formally announce cessation of all hostilities and break bread together.
