Farm machinery bank inaugurated at Niuland

Farm Machinery Bank (FMB) for custom hiring was inaugurated by director of agriculture Bendangyanger on May 22 at Nuiland as chief guest. 
Objective of FMB for custom hiring was to promote mechanization in areas with low farm power availability, to provide hiring services on various agricultural machinery, expand mechanized activity, to introduce newly develop agricultural implements and machineries in crop production.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Bendangyanger congratulated the first entrepreneur of the state Holo for implementing the programme of FMB for custom hiring.
Stressing on the sustainable agriculture growth and “food for all” by 2020, against the back drop of limited availability of farming resources machineries especially cultivable land, the agri director said agricultural production would have to come mainly from enhancement in farm productivity in the existing cultivated area.
Bendangyanger requested the participants and extension workers to spread the message of custom hiring benefits. 
Agriculture joint director Nosezole, in her keynote address, shared the importance of farm mechanization. 
She stated that all farmers cannot possess farm machineries but depending on animal power alone slows production process and it becomes problem in management especially during off season or disease outbreak. She highlighted the operational guidelines for custom hiring.
SDO (Civil) Niuland while exhorting the gathering requested the director of agriculture to organize training programmes on the latest technological for the farming community of Niuland.
