State chief minister T.R. Zeliang administered oath of office to a total of five advisors in his office at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Kohima Friday.
The five included- S.I. Jamir (INC), Imtilemba Sangtam (BJP), N.Thonwang Konyak (NPF), Dr. T.M. Lotha(BJP) and Naiba Konyak (NPF).
It may be mentioned that the three– S.I. Jamir, Imtilemba Sangtam and Thonwang Konyak- were earlier appointed on May 8 as advisors with cabinet status.
On Friday, Dr. T.M. Lotha and Naiba Konyak were also appointed as advisors (without cabinet status).
According to a notification issued by cabinet secretary Pankaj Kumar IAS, Dr.TM.Lotha was allotted Treasuries & Accounts, Relief & Rehabilitation while Naiba Konyak was allotted Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA). Portfolios of S.I. Jamir, Imtilemba Sangtam and Thongwang Konyak had already been allotted on May 8.
With this, the T.R. Zeliang ministry has a total of 12 cabinet ministers, 24 parliamentary secretaries and five advisors totalling 41 from NPF, INC, BJP, JDU, NCP, Independents in the 60-member house which has no opposition.
NLA meeting
A meeting has been convened at the Nagaland Legislative Assembly secretariat conference hall on May 25, 11 a.m. to reconstitute Joint Legislators Forum (JLF).
