United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC), in response to the director school education statement dated May 6, 2015, maintained that it never expected or sought assurance to set up SDEO office in Longkhim within 10 days.
In a press release, USSC vice president Thrikyuse Sangtam and executive secretary Yangdipi Sangtam maintained that USSC rather was seeking clarification from director up to which extent the proposal process was initiated.
USSC said as an apex student organization it was aware that office running needed Grade 3 & 4 staff. The conference added that it was seeking with prior knowledge that the director had communicated to USSC that such staff will be attached from teachers and other means as post creation was difficult. Thereby, the conference said it was indeed satisfied with such ideas. The student body also stated that the present temporary building arrangement was even done as per the director’s direction and regretted that the director was “confusing” the student community. Meanwhile, USSC stated that demand for SDEO office at Longkhim cannot be compromised at any cost.
