Career CliniQ in association with the directorate of employment and craftsmen training conducted a daylong seminar for the parents of Dainty Buds School on 19 May.
The event was a series of seminars that has been organised across the schools of the state in order to encourage parents and students to take up science stream after their matriculation.
At present, more than 80% of the students of the state opt for ARTS as the stream. However, without corresponding increase in science enrolments, job creation for the arts graduates may be an uphill task. At present both the centre and the state has got thousands of vacancies for science graduates, which were remaining unfulfilled because of lack of adequate competent candidates.
Noted speaker Dr.Anirban Choudhury addressed the audience on the various job opportunities available in the science stream.
He also apprised the crowd on the various government schemes and scholarships that have been introduced to promote science among the students.
Use of the modern technology including the digital courseware, namely Smart TutoR was also encouraged. The parents were delighted for organising such event.
School principal Thejano Meru expressed gratitude to the parents, who turned up in large numbers for the event. She assured the parents to conduct more such sessions in the future and hold similar career oriented sessions for the students. Dainty Buds education officer-in-charge Andrew Tsanglao proposed the vote of thanks and invited parents to actively participate with their wards in the process of career decision making.
