PTCSU resents education deptt’s silence on its plea

Phek Town Chakhesang Students Union (PTSU) has expressed resentment over higher authorities of school education department for turning a deaf ear to several representations and memorandum with regard to shortage of teachers at GHSS Phek.
In a press release, PTCSU president Kudukhoto Tetseo stated that GHSS Phek, the only higher secondary school in Phek town, had shortage of teachers and classrooms with the increasing number of students this year.
PTSU lamented that this year hundreds of students from economically weaker section trying to seek admission at GHSS Phek would have to stop their studies after passing Class X as their parents could not able to afford to send their children for education beyond Phek town.
In connection with this, the PTCSU convened emergency meeting on May 14 at GBs hall with all the NGOs of Phek town and deliberated on the issue of shortage of teachers and class rooms.
At the meeting, it was resolved to pursue it own course of action if the responsible department failed to address the grievances of the students at the earliest.
Union cautioned that it would never hesitate to take its own course of action and should not be held responsible for any untoward incidents that arose out of this issue.
