First and only distillery plant, under the aegis of ‘Escort Motors’, was inaugurated and dedicated by Bendang Jamir, A/P MTBA, at Majakong Ward, Mokokchung on May 13. ‘The plant would indirectly effect a cleaner environment because my plant would purchase the waste bottles, apart from many hazardous wastes, that have been littering and clogging our drainages and rivers, for the past many years’, said T Sashi Imchen, the proprietor of the plant.
He said Nagaland was a land of rich resources, which has access to ample avenues for employment, if one was willing to work hard. Sashi lamented ‘our lifestyles have become “over dependent on others for our needs and it is time we (Nagas) break the self enclosed shell’.
Plant proprietor stated that he aimed to branch out with a bottling plant and also produce hydrochloric acid, so that the consumers could depend on a locally made quality products, in the future.
While inaugurating and dedicating the plant, Bendang Jamir, A/P MTBA, stated that youth should inculcate the noble entrepreneurship of Sashi in exploring the right opportunities. He also said it would be an eye opener for others.
