
Purana Bazaar Police Station was dedicated to the service of the people of the area in a brief function in the station premises on April 30.
According to N Hozheto Achumi, chairman Purana Bazaar Village Council who also chaired the function, said Rev. Tuyi Sumi, Evangelist of Nagaland Missionary Movement, pronounced the dedicatory prayer followed by short speech from village elders Vikuto Wotsa (GB), Tangai Phom (GB), Zhevito Aye (GB) and Mhasivolie Angami, Officer- in-Charge of the police station.
Village elders who spoke at the programme were of the view that police station was much needed in the area for maintaining law and order. They were of the view that cooperation was needed between the uniformed personnel and public. They thanked the State government and concerned department for establishing a police station at Purana Bazaar village. Speakers also thanked the Police Commissioner Dimapur, Liremo T Lotha, and his team for taking all initiative to setting up the station.
Mhasivolie Angami said police needed the support of public in order to maintain law and order in the area. He urged upon the people of the village to extend support to the police.
Delivering the chairman’s remark, Hozheto said setting up of police station in the village was a blessing for the villagers.
The police station is housed on the ground floor of the Punana Bazaar Village Council building.
