One day farmer- scientist interaction programme was under the theme “pest and disease management of field crops” and “care and management of livestock” on March 30, at KVK, Yisemyong.
The programme was organized by Agricultural technology management agency (ATMA) Mokokchung in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK)
Resource persons of the programme were SARS assistant plant pathologist Maongsangl, district agriculture office, Mokochung training officer, Mokokchung Temsuinla and KVK subject matter specialist Dr. Rongsensusang.
During the interaction programme, farmers and experts shared and discussed on the problems and challenges faced by the farmers. Simultaneously, participants also visited the district level exhibition organized by KVK Mokokchung. The programme was attended by farmers from 15 villages.
AKULUTO: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Nagaland University (NU) has organised technology showcasing programme at Akuluto town on March 28 with SMS Plant Protection Wapangtoshi, SMS Agronomy Dr. Visakho Shunyu, SMS Animal Science Dr. Nongothung Ezung, programme assistant home science Narola Anichari and programme assistant computer science Imnameren as resource persons.
During the inaugural programme, coordinator KVK, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia highlighted the importance of technology showcasing and encouraged the farmers to take up latest agriculture technologies and allied subjects to improve the production of crop and livestock.
Preparation on different products such as Soymilk, Soynut, Bokashi, Vermi compost, use of different farm implements etc were demonstrated to farmers. Plant and animal health camps were also organized to help the farmers to improve productivity of crop and livestock vaccination of dogs against canine distemper.
Videos on preparation of organic manure, yellow sticky trap, preparation of organic tea, production technology of lilium, technology packages in Agriculture and ICT in Agriculture were showed to farmers. Free distribution of maize, ladies finger seeds, chilli, cabbage, tomato seeds, maize sheller, farm implements were also provided to around 150 participants.
PHEK: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Phek conducted exhibition cum farmer scientist interaction under the theme “Promoting technology transfer of agriculture and allied sectors” on March 28 at KVK premises with EAC, Phutsero Zubenthung Ngully as chief guest.
During the programme, Ngully said Chakesang community being one of the highly agricultural developed tribe in Nagaland with favourable climatic condition must work hard for the upliftment of the community. He also encouraged the participants to utilize the latest knowledge and technology of agriculture and allied sector from KVK to enhance the production.
SDAO, Pfutsero advised the participants to grab the opportunities in learning and adopting technologies provided by KVK and also requested them to cooperate with KVK officials.
During farmer scientist interaction, queries regarding insect pest, difference between organic and inorganic agriculture, kiwi and plum plantation, poultry diseases, fishery and mushroom production were discussed.
After formal session, the chief guest also inaugurated the exhibition stalls wherein KVK officials explained the uses and benefits of the models, farm implements to the participants which were on display.
The programme was chaired by SMS Agronomy Hannah Krujia, welcome address was delivered by SMS Soil Science T. Esther Longkumer and vote of thanks by Keniseto Chucha.
