Miscreants vandalize building in Dimapur

In a suspected case of property feud, unidentified miscreants vandalized a building that housed Apna Hotel and Nyamo Lotha Road Business Owners’ Association (NLRBOA) office at NL Road, here on Monday.
According to one of the tenants, around 40 youth had gone inside the building and damaged properties inside Apna Hotel and several other rooms on the first and second floor of the building.
Five tenants including a teacher and students were displaced as the miscreants completely damaged the doors and portion of the walls inside the rooms.
Sources said that a FIR had been filed by one of the aggrieved parties.
Meanwhile, NLRBOA formerly known as Church Road Business Owners’ Association has condemned the act and appealed to the law enforcing agencies to arrest the miscreants.
In a press release, NLRBOA general secretary Khekishe Aye and treasurer Nihoto said that the aggrieved parties should resolve the matter in the appropriate forum without affecting the tenants in the building.
When contacted, Dimapur Commissioner of Police designate, Liremo Lotha said it was a case of family dispute. No arrests were made at the time of filing of this report.
