Yi Nagaland Chapter held its annual session on March 28 under the theme “community engagement: a key towards Nagaland development” at Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre, Dimapur with former chairman of Yi Nagaland Chapter and MLA Mhonlumo Kikon as special guest.
During the programme Kikon spoke on the topic “Engaging community for socio-economic upliftment”. Citing the issues concerning the Naga society, he said failure in living a democratic way of life has weakened the society.
Speaking on the topic “Swacch Bharat through community engagement”, chief engineer PHED, Er. Kevisekho Kruse said Swacch Bharat campaign could be achieved through active involvement of the individuals in the society.
He said the campaign involves decisive political will and strong community engagement. Keeping in mind the importance of health he asked the gathering to spread awareness on hygiene and not only to focus on infrastructural development.
National Chairman Young Indians Shaurya Veer Himatsingka also addressed the event. On the occasion new team of YNC was also elected for the tenure 2015-16. The team will be led by Hyunilo Anilo Khing as chairman and Vijay Sharma as co chairman.
