NSCN (K) questions NSCN (I-M)’s cruelty

PRO of NSCN/GPRN (Khaplang) Isak Sumi has expressed shock at the recent “abductions and brutal physical and mental afflictions” meted to three NSCN(K) cadres by NSCN (I-M) cadres. Sumi disclosed that the three victims- ‘Lt’ Kepwang Konyak, Honkai Konyak (member of Konyak region) and Manjah Konyak( Konyak Region)-were abducted on February 18 from Teru village, Mon district.
He said the three were “tormented inhumanly for several days under captivity” where several fingers of each victim “were even amputated/hacked off with machete” and their condition remained critical.
The PRO NSCN (K) said such atrocities committed on fellow compatriots, “without compunction, only seeks to further wreck the fragile peace” at a challenging and sensitive time, when cross section of Nagas including political groups were endeavouring to be on board a political consensus for a durable solution.
He asked the NSCN (I-M) leadership to justify if the “nonsensical display of violence” was in harmony with their professed peaceful and honourable political solution. He cautioned that unless “this loathsome episode stands corrected with appropriate compensatory measures” to the satisfaction of NSCN (K) and the victims, it ramifications would be potentially grave.
