MOC organises w’shop on skill development

Two-day workshop on education and employability skill development was organized by Mount Olive College, Kohima, jointly with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Ministry of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with Film and Cultural Society of North East on February 23 to 24.
At the inaugural programme, chief guest state secretary of finance Y Kikheto Sema stressed upon the attitude towards work culture and exhorted the young generation should not only depend on government jobs.
He focused upon the skill development in order to feed the youth into different ventures and also encouraged the youth to develop work culture in order to ensure better future.
The keynote address was delivered by the Film and Cultural Society secretary, Rahul Jain, who emphasized on the need of audio visual aids in the educational institutions.
Resource person of the workshop were joint director of industries and commerce, Er. S Temsulong Jamer, coordinator of entrepreneur associates Neichute Duolo, travel consultant and managing director of Explore Kohima Nino Zhasa, Rohan KL, CEO of India trail, experience travel company, Kohima Abraham, musician and entrepreneur, Kohima, Theja Meru, and assistant manager, Vijaya Bank, Kohima, Solomon.
The workshop highlights included screening of documentary films like ‘Call of the entrepreneur,’ ‘The shoe maker’ and ‘The cola road’ and interaction with Simon Berry, social entrepreneur on Skype.
