DDDPPA decries misappropriation of fund

Dimapur District Disabled Persons Parents’ Association (DDDPPA) has strongly condemned the misappropriation of Rs 12,79,50,000 meant for disabled persons allegedly by officials of School Education Department and some individuals.
DDDPPA general secretary, Joylal Pradhan and the vice president, Zakiekedo Angami said, “there is no bigger crime than snatching away from the mouth of disabled and bury the legitimate rights for the livelihood.” The Association has vehemently condemned the DoSE, officials and other individuals involved in the treacherous scam and urged upon the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to vigorously investigate the scam and reveal names of those involved to the public.
It questioned who could those concerned officers and individuals murder the livelihood of 31,482 disabled persons in the State when DDDPPA had not receive any grand-in-aid nor office infrastructure for the welfare of the disabled persons from any related department since formation of the Association.
It said the looted amount was more than sufficient to develop vocational training institute, disability home and special school with rehabilitation centre in all districts.
Meanwhile, DDDPPA has appreciated the Vigilance Commissioner and Anti-Corruption for detecting the misappropriation of fund.
In a related statement, founder president of DDDPPA and first national executive council member of disabilities from Nagaland (National Confederation of Parents’ Organisation), Akum Ezung said if the situation demanded, all the districts of Disabled Persons Parents’ Association would not remain silent spectators but would be compelled to seek justice according to the disabilities legislation and Bill under Section 94 National and State Disability Rights Authority (DRAs) for promoting and protecting equal human rights and fundamental freedom of all disabilities.
DDDPPA has appealed to the SIT to unearth the entire scam without fear and favour and brought to its logical conclusion.
