Social Welfare bids farewell to Director

Officers and staff of the Directorate of Social Welfare bade farewell to retiring Director, Khevito T Shohe, at a grand programme organized in his honour at Capital Convention Center, Kohima, where the minister for Social Welfare, Kiyaneilie Peseyie, and the Secretary, Dellirose M Sakhrie were also present.
Kiyaneilie, in his address, termed the retiring Director as very sincere, active, capable and morally sound person. He said retiring of the Director has mixed feeling of sadness and happiness. Stating that the Director would be remembered in the days to come, he has wished him very happy and long life.
Secretary of Social Welfare, Dellirose M Sakhrie, in her address, said Khevito was a sincere, dedicated, dependable and reliable director in the department. Sakhrie said he really cared for the welfare of the department staff and also introduced many good policies for the department.
The new incoming Director, T Merangtsungba Aier, said 32 years of associating with the retiring director was remarkable who is kind hearted, consistent, loving and caring, competent and dynamic leader with sense of humour and possessed leadership quality. He saluted him for successfully completing the race with sound health.
Outgoing Director, Khevito T Shohe, expressed gratitude to the department staff and officers for their cooperation throughout his service and at the same time urged them to be more dedicated and sincere with their duties.
He said the department has numerous duties for the welfare of the people which included the aged, disabled and destitute people. He advised the remaining staff to believe each other and be proud of working in the department.
The programme was led by Joint Director, Khehoto Sema, while the invocation prayer was said by Rev. Neivotso Neikha, Mission Director NCRC; welcome address by Tulula Pongen, Deputy Director; farewell speech on behalf of district officers and staff and ministerial staff by Michael Zaren, DPO Phek, and Tinuwati, UDA, respectively; special songs by Ajungla from Nagaland Blind School, Dimapur; and the vote of thanks by E Yanrenthung, SPO.
A short film on the past works of outgoing director was screened through projector.
