Four held in Kohima

Kohima police manning the Phesama check-gate have intercepted one mini truck bearing Registration No. NL-01/G2058 (Tata 1109) for carrying 480 kgs of contraband ganja worth 4.8 lakhs approx and arrested three persons. The consignment was found neatly packed in 48 different packets weighting 10 kgs each.
The three accused have been identified as Gideon @ Duzü Poumai (21), son of Punü Poumai, Tomi Rahadu Poumai (25), son of Kho-u Poumai, and Dahrülou Poumai (20), son of Hrünü Poumai. All the accused are from Sirong village under Tadubi sub-division in Senapati (Manipur).
In another incident, one Sitaram Sah (30), son of Jogannath Sah of Madhawda village in Bihar, and resident of Daklane Colony, Kohima, was arrested from NST Hotel, Kohima, for purchasing dead chickens reportedly brought from Dimapur and selling them to the public.
Case in this connection has been registered with the North Police Station, Kohima
