Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kohima, along with District Health Society, Department of Health & Family Welfare, and NHM, has organized the district level annual conference on communitisation in its conference hall on February 13.
Chairing the programme, CMO, Dr. Avino Metha, said communitisation literally meant owning responsibility of all properties provided by the government. She mentioned that public should take responsibility in proper maintenance and management of the infrastructures.
A brief presentation on communitisation was delivered by ZLO, Dr. Aseno Rhetso, where she also spoke about reaching out to grass root level by community involvement. Dr. Aseno also informed the congregation that communitization is to get into partnership with the people through responsibility – sharing in matters of health.
She said communitisation is to let the villagers own the health institutions and service for the promotion of their health and disease prevention.
Later, interactive session was held with the officials and the village health committee. The session was made one to one interaction as to look for better objectives under the district.
It was followed with presentation of awards where the 1st prize was bagged by Ehunnu SC, while the second prize was bagged by Seithogei SC and the third prize by Pfuchama SC. The awardees were also given time to share their experiences. The vote of thanks was delivered by Khriehuno (Stat.Asst). Altogether, 57 VHCs attended the conference.
