Peace Channel commemorates ‘World Day of sick’ in Dimapur

Peace Channel in collaboration with Shalom Rehabilitation Centre and BSW and MSW students, who are doing block placement under Peace Channel, commemorated World Day of the Sick by conducting awareness class on healthy life style at Lotha Colony, Dimapur.
World Day of the Sick is a feast day of the Roman Catholic Church which was instituted on May 13, 1992, by Pope John Paul II. Beginning on February 11, 1993, it is celebrated every year on the commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes for all believers who seek “a special time of prayer and sharing of offering one’s suffering”
The occasion was graced by Father Mathew Thuniambral, Director of Shalom Rehabilitation Centre Dimapur.  
Peace Club president of Lotha Colony, Vanjamo Murry, facilitated the programme while Weche Mebou, staff of Peace Channel, extended the knowledge about the importance of the day and Sani Murry, staff of the Peace Channel, introduced the yearly schedule of Quality Peace Club in Lotha Colony. Sr. Maria from Holy Cross Hospital and Bro. Meren, Councillor of Shalom Rehabilitation Centre, shared the lessons to the public on healthy life style. The health awareness class focused on infant mortality, environment pollution and substance abuse etc. The initiative could motivate people to bring drastic changes and taking serious decisions for promoting healthy life style in their locality.
