SN plea for unemployed Naga youth

Survival Nagaland today suggested that Dimapur’s most prime locations and hot-spots like New Market, Hazi Park should be given to genuine educated unemployed Naga youth and poor local Naga women vegetable vendors. It voiced that Nagas were not allotted even a tiniest spaces to do their business in their own land as all these sites have been occupied by IBIs who had come through Assam with documents from Karimganj, Hailakndi, Hojai, Lumding, Lanka etc.
It said the New Market fish-stall, second-hand clothes line and other DMC owned buildings should be given to Naga people. It lamented that poor Naga mothers were made to sell their vegetables and other products in the congested by-lanes of the New Markets and have a hard time during the rainy season, windy season or in the Dimapur summer heat while most of the places are being occupied by the IBIs who comfortably do business.
“How can our Naga leaders continue to watch all this while our own people suffer right in-front of their eyes? Have they become so blind that they cannot see this? Have they lost their power of understanding that they fail to fathom all these situations?” Survival Nagaland asked.
It said those business premises have all been let-out to the illegal aliens who claim themselves to be Indian nationals but in reality are all Bangladeshis just because of some people with vested interests who only care for money and power but do not have any concern for their own people.
It said the people who are patronizing them today must know well that these same people would trample upon their own children tomorrow. If they are leaders who have even an iota of vision or a thought about our future, they should start working for their people, it added.
“Today their economic domination of many businesses will lead them to crave for political authority tomorrow and will throw away the ones who are enjoying by patronising and protecting these IBIs after which the Naga people will be doomed,” Survival Nagaland cautioned. It further stated that Naga house owners and land lords should rent out their premises to their own people if they consider themselves as true Nagas and Christians. It is never too late to work for the people if they have a sense of patriotism for the land and the people, it said.
