Kma police nab three persons

A joint team of North and South Police Stations, Women Cell, DIB and Mobile Unit of DEF Kohima conducted surprise raid on the stores selling X-rated movies/ materials on February 13 and three persons and seized other devices from their possession.
The accused persons have been identified as Jogeswar Barrma (23), son of Narendro Nath of Geromari village (Assam) and residing at Lower PWD Colony, Kohima; Vinay Kumar Srivastav (24), son of Yogenderalala of Dhobal Bazaar (Bihar) and residing at Old Ministers Hill Colony, Kohima; and Bapan Malakar (34), son of Nirmal Malakar of Nagipur village (Assam) and residing at Lerie Colony, Kohima. They were arrested from their shops located at Mohonkhola and Old BOC Kohima on the charges of selling, distributing and circulating obscene films from their shops.
Police team also seized three CPU containing the hard disk of the computers with 7763 files of porn videos clip, four monitors, keyboards and four mouse, one UPS, one 4 GB Pen drive containing 23 files of porn movies and 115 porn CDs.
During preliminary investigation, it was ascertained from the three arrested person that they have been indulging in this business since 2009. They use to purchase the x-rated CD’s from one Adim Mao who supplies it to them from Mao-gate @ Rs 18 per CD which in turn is sold customer at Rs 30 per CD. The porn video clips were reportedly downloaded from the internet and sold at Rs 1 per video clip. On the average they sell more than 100 video clips and 2-5 CDs per day.
A regular case vide South PS Kohima case No. 0018/2015 U/S 292/293 IPC has been registered against them for purchasing, selling and distributing pornographic movies in an open market.
