Rajasthan team visits Peren district

A team of 23 member delegates led by MS Kala (IAS), Director of Watershed Development & Soil Conservation from Rajasthan, along with departmental officials from Watershed Development & Soil Conservation and State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) visited Lamhai-Dungki village in Peren district on February 10.
The team accompanied by Vanchamo Ngullie, Deputy Director of Land Resources Dvelopment; Neilhukhoto Kuotsu, DPO, LRD, Peren; WDTs Peren; senior lecturers from SIRD, Dr. Tuthsutho Phoji, Dr. Adino Vitso, and Smti Imtimenla Longkumer visited the village to inspect various Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) projects implemented under the department of Land Resources Development (LRD). The team had an interaction with the villagers, the watershed committee members, and the SHGs on the implementation of various projects in the village. 
The team was warmly welcomed by the villagers with presentation and cultural dance troupe performance. They appreciated the developmental works in the village by the department of Land Resources especially on the rubber plantation covering 400 ha land with around 2 lakhs (approx) standing plants.
The visiting team had made satisfactory feedback on the projects executed in the village.
Earlier on February 10, the team visited the resource centre of the department of land resources at Ruzhaphema, Tuesday.
 During their visit, the entourage interacted with the senior officers and WDT members who are presently attending a five-day training programme on implementation of IWMP.
M.S. Kala commented that the resource centre was systematically planned and scientifically organized infrastructure providing conducive environment for organizing training programmes.
He was also impressed with the faculty engaged with the training programme and was thankful to the department for the opportunity provided to the team for the exposure visit to the resource centre.
