ZTYO holds general assembly

A group of likeminded persons comprising of educated and intellectuals, officers, doctors, engineer, teachers, lawyers, journalists, active leaders of NGOs/ students union etc has formed an organization under the banner of Zunheboto Town Youth Organisation (ZTYO) in September 2013 with its motto “Be the change.”
The second annual general assembly of ZTYO was elaborately held under the chairpersonship of its vice president Oketo Chishi and recorded by Vishiho Aye respectively. It began with an invocation prayers led by Litoli I Aye, ZTYO women coordinator, in Sumi Hoho-Ki (SH Hall), Old Town Zunheboto, on February 3.
Pastor Khehoto Yeptho, associate pastor ZTSBC, was the guest speaker who also administered prayers for the ZTYO endeavors and 2nd anniversary blessings. Pastor Khehoto, in his exhortation, expressed pleasure to be a part of the momentous day and lauded the ZTYO for being an “Elder Brother” to the denizens of Zunheboto town jurisdiction.
While lamenting the contemporary crisis confronting the Sumi and Zunheboto town community, Khehoto discouraged disunity, division and confusion amongst the NPGs, political setup, communal tension, church denomination (s) and isms’ etc. He was also apprehensive and dismayed over the division of church denominations and urged that ZTYO should play a neutral role and also be the ambassadors of peace, love, unity, security and monitor against the corruptions, developmental lapses and various evil acts”.
He stressed on “Broadmindedness and Status Quo” while acknowledging that ZTYO is the most qualified body for bridging the gaps between any group right from grassroots level till the top district authority/machinery.
“Be polite, sincere, committed and truthful and keep your constant faith towards the Divine authority and nothing is impossible,” exhorted Khehoto while commenting on the ZTYO motto “Be the change”. He concluded by citing various Biblical quotes and personalities.
Earlier, Sub-Unit representatives from various colony/sector forums and ZTYO advisor Vikugha also addressed the house. Monopoly of LPG and petrol pump, non uniformity of prices in Zunheboto market, irregularities and anomalies in government institutions were the main areas of concern deliberated.
ZTYO spokesman Er Mughalu Sumi and Inaho Bob Achumy, former ZRSU president, were the other speakers of the day.
The house unanimously agreed and directed the entire sub units/ colony/ sector forum to abide and adopt ZTYO constitution and acknowledge ZTYO as the apex youth body.
Meanwhile, ZTYO has decided to support and cooperate with the District Voluntary Blood Donors’ Association (ZDVBDA) in their venture. It has also decided to organize and sensitize “manual labour” such as tailoring, haircutting, labour/ coolie and several other related physical works so as to promote work culture amongst the unemployed youth and to conduct surprise inspection and pay courtesy visit to all government offices in Zunheboto district.
