Tripura Institute of Paramedical Sciences (TIPS) is one of the premium Institute in North-East India and the only paramedical sciences institute recognized by central university in North East coordinating professional learning experiences and training for students in the field of Paramedical Sciences.
TIPS has given proposal to the Higher and Technical Education, Government of Nagaland, for the reservation of 5 seats each in 8 courses, informed by Dr. Sabyasachi Chowdhury, admission coordinator and Assistant professor, during a press conference held at Oasis Restaurant Blue Bayou, Kohima, on Wednesday afternoon.
Chowdhury said the institute is affiliated to Tripura Central University, Indian Nursing Council (New Delhi), Tripura State Nursing Council, Indian Association of Physiotherapist (Indore), Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (Mumbai) and India Society of Radiographers & Technologist offering 9 courses which includes B.Sc. in medical Radio Diagnosis and Imaging Technology, B.Sc. in Medical Radiotherapy Technology, B.Sc. in Optometry and Vision Science, Bachelor in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Bachelor in Hospital Management, B.Sc in medical Laboratory technology, B.Sc. in medical laboratory technology (OT), B.Sc Nursing (ANM).
He said the institute has tie up with 500 bedded Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Agartala for clinical classes along with other major hospital in Tripura. He informed that in the coming session 2015-16, TIPS would be organizing counseling in Nagaland for admission at Regional Information Office (RIO) TIPS, opposite to Koinonia Baptist Church Kezekie, Kohima.
Encouraging the students from the state to study, he informed that at present the institute has 980 students from 14 states of India adding majority are from the North East states. The press conference also attended by Dr. Kevisilie Belho, Regional coordinator Nagaland Sector, and Assistant Coordinator, Dr. Keneikhrieno Bei-o.
