Following the damage of 33 KVA feeder line Tseminyu at Longsa area, the affected sub-divisions— Tseminyu, Pughoboto and Wozhero range have called from a 12-hour bandh along NH-2 on February 6 from 6 a.m.
Meanwhile, in a press release, Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) assembly speaker Khwehi Semp informed that the union would extend support to the bandh call. Hitting out at the power department, RSU said “as sunlight has no partiality to give its light to every human, so also there should be no partiality from the concern department irrespective of race or tribe.”
It also questioned why the department had not “come out with any alternative” knowing the fact that thousands of students were busy preparing for HSLC and HSSCL exams.
RSU cautioned the department that incase any untoward incident occurs, consequently affecting the conduct of HSLC/HSSLC exams due to power failure, the department would be held responsible.
