After a gruesome 3-weeklong hunt, the Zunheboto Police finally apprehended one cyber/social media (pornography) criminal identified as one KS Nathaniel Kamsuan (29), son of KS Phunjanglung and resident of Pantilong village PO/PS Heingang under Imphal West district Manipur, on February 1.
The accused was charged with various offences (s) under Section 354C/ 354D/ 501/ 506/ 509 IPC R/ W 66A/ 66E/ 67A IT (Information Technology) Act, said Zbto PS personnel.
As per the police source, the complaint was lodged by Zunheboto Town Youth Organization (ZTYO) on December 15 last. Since ; then intensive investigation was launched under the supervision of Zunheboto SP, V Peseyie, and conducted by Zunheboto PS OC Picto Achumi who is also the IO (Investigation Officer) of the case, along with Lucy Doungel, n-charge, Police Cell, Zunheboto, and other police personnel.
The accused was apprehended by the Zunheboto police team on February 1 from his native village Pantilong village PO/PS Heingang under Imphal West district Manipur and kept at Police Station where the case was officially registered/lodged by the concerned.
It may be noted that this incident is one of first and rare case of Cyber/IT crime involving two states viz Nagaland and Manipur.
The culprit also underwent medical/ physical test and was later handed over to Zunheboto Police custody by the time of filing this report.
In a separate note, ZTYO Media Cell has lauded the SP, V Peseyie, for the timely and successful arrest of the accused by the team led by Picto Achumi, OC PS Zunheboto, along with Lucy Doungel, IC Women Cell, and other police personnel.
