State chief minister, TR Zeliang, has mourned the demise of Dr. Inakhe Sumi, Honorary President of Nagaland Institute of Health, Environment and Social Welfare, who breathed his last on January 31 at Dimapur.
In a condolence message, Zeliang has described late Dr. Inakhe Sumi as an upright and dedicated person and the first graduate doctor from among the Sumi community who had served in the Medical Department till his retirement as Director of Health & Family Welfare and also served the people through various NGOs even after his retirement. Stating that his demise was a colossal loss to the Nagas as a whole, the chief minister has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
Meanwhile, the chief minister has also condoled the sad demise of Kyothungo Ovung, Retired Deputy General Manager, NST and former CEC Member of NPF on February 2 at Kohima after a brief illness. The chief minister said late K Ovung, after his retirement, dedicated his life for the welfare of the people and was an active member of the NPF Party. The chief minister lamented that his demise has not only created a vacuum in his community but also the NPF Party. He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
